Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") describes activities that are not allowed on CrewFinder. It applies to everyone who uses crewfinder.info, the public directory, and the Sales Hub - workspace owners, teammates, and visitors.

The AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. If you violate it, we may suspend or terminate your access, remove the offending content, and (where required) cooperate with law enforcement.

Anti-spam and the email integration

The Sales Hub email integration lets you send messages from your own connected mailbox through CrewFinder. When you do, you are the sender for legal purposes - not us. You are responsible for complying with every anti-spam law that applies to you, your recipients, or your messages. That includes:

• Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) - applies if either you or any recipient is in Canada. Requires consent (express or implied), clear sender identification, and a working unsubscribe mechanism.
• The U.S. CAN-SPAM Act - applies to commercial messages sent to U.S. recipients. Requires accurate header and subject lines, a physical mailing address, and a working opt-out.
• Australia's Spam Act 2003 - applies if either you or any recipient is in Australia. Requires consent, sender identification, and an unsubscribe mechanism.
• Any other applicable law in your or the recipient's jurisdiction (such as the EU's ePrivacy Directive in the European Economic Area or UK PECR).

You also agree:

• Not to use the email integration to send unsolicited commercial messages, deceptive subject lines, or messages that disguise their origin;
• To honour opt-out requests promptly and not to add opted-out addresses back to your active outreach;
• To use real, working sender addresses (no spoofed or throwaway domains);
• To not use the integration for high-volume bulk mailings (the integration is designed for one-to-one and small-team B2B communication, not newsletters or marketing blasts - use a dedicated email service provider for that).

We do not screen the content of your outbound mail, but we may suspend the integration if we receive credible spam or abuse complaints, if a mailbox provider flags activity from our infrastructure, or if we observe behaviour that violates this policy.

Data the Sales Hub is not built for

CrewFinder is a general-purpose directory and a B2B sales tool. It is not designed or certified for regulated data categories that require specialised infrastructure, contracts, or audits. You agree not to store or process the following in your Workspace:

• U.S. Protected Health Information (PHI) within the meaning of HIPAA. We do not sign Business Associate Agreements.
• Full payment-card data (PAN, CVV, etc.) outside the Chargebee checkout flow that handles your own Pro subscription. Don't paste customer credit card numbers into notes, contacts, or estimates.
• Government-classified information or information subject to specific export controls (such as U.S. ITAR / EAR controlled technical data) without prior written agreement from us.
• Children's personal information collected without proper parental consent under applicable law (such as COPPA in the U.S.).
• Government-issued ID numbers and equivalents such as Social Insurance Numbers (Canada), Social Security Numbers (U.S.), or full driver's licence numbers, unless legitimately required for your work and stored only transiently.
• Special-category personal data under the EU/UK GDPR (e.g., health data, biometric data, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs) outside what is genuinely required for a B2B contracting relationship.

If you're unsure whether something is appropriate to store in your Workspace, email legal@crewfinder.info before storing it.

Prohibited content and conduct

You agree not to upload, send, post, or otherwise make available through CrewFinder any content that:

• Is illegal, defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening, hateful, or that incites violence;
• Infringes another party's copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent, privacy, publicity, or other right;
• Misrepresents who you are, who you work for, or your authority to speak for the company you're listing or claiming;
• Contains malware, viruses, ransomware, or any other harmful code, or that links to such content;
• Is intended to defraud, phish, or scam any person - including the Estimate Recipients you send quotes to.

Protecting the platform

You agree not to do any of the following without our written permission:

• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any CrewFinder system, except under a security disclosure agreement with us;
• Bypass authentication, rate limits, paywalls, or any other access control;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the Service, except where applicable law expressly permits and that right cannot be waived;
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, headless browsers) to extract data from the Service in volumes inconsistent with ordinary human use, except (i) for your own Workspace via the documented export tools, or (ii) for the public directory in compliance with our robots.txt and standard fair-use limits;
• Resell, sublicense, time-share, or commercially redistribute the Service, the directory data, or any portion of either, except as a User of your own Workspace;
• Interfere with, disrupt, or impose an unreasonable load on the Service or its underlying infrastructure (for example, denial-of-service traffic, deliberate query amplification, or rapid-fire account creation).

Estimates and customer outreach

When you send an estimate or other outbound communication through the Sales Hub, you agree:

• The estimate accurately describes the work, pricing, and terms you intend to be bound by - CrewFinder doesn't vet estimate content;
• You have a good-faith business reason to be sending the estimate to the recipient; and
• You will not use the share-link mechanism to deliver unrelated marketing material, malware, or fraudulent documents.

Estimate Recipients can decline an estimate or report abuse through the share-link page. We may remove an estimate that we reasonably believe violates this AUP and notify the sending Workspace.

Reporting abuse

If you believe someone is using CrewFinder in a way that violates this policy - spam from a connected mailbox, a fraudulent estimate, an inaccurate or impersonating listing, or a security issue - please tell us:

• Spam, fraud, or AUP violations: legal@crewfinder.info
• Security issues: privacy@crewfinder.info
• Listing accuracy or removal: listings@crewfinder.info (or use our listing removal page)

A real human reads each of those inboxes.

How we enforce this policy

We take enforcement actions in proportion to the issue. Depending on what we find, we may:

• Contact the Workspace owner and ask for the issue to be resolved;
• Remove or edit specific content;
• Disconnect a mailbox integration or rate-limit a sender;
• Suspend the Workspace pending investigation;
• Terminate the account under the Terms of Service for material or repeat breaches;
• Report illegal activity to law enforcement and respond to valid legal process.

For security incidents and serious abuse, we may act first and notify after, where waiting would put other customers at risk.

Updates

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes are announced together with updates to the Terms of Service and follow the same notice rules. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
